With Afrishela Fund’s first external investment, Ritu Bahal is scaling TrackRight, a woman-led logistics technology platform that improves freight visibility, safety, efficiency, and emissions tracking for East African transport operators.
“TrackRight was born from a simple idea: if transporters and cargo owners had better visibility into what was happening on the ground, they could operate more efficiently, more safely and more sustainably.” – Ritu Bahal, Founder and CEO, KPM Tech Solutions Limited.
Every delayed delivery has a ripple effect. A truck held up on the road can mean stock arriving late, fuel being wasted, customers being disappointed, and businesses losing money. In logistics, what cannot be seen often cannot be fixed.
Ritu Bahal, Founder and CEO of KPM Tech Solutions Limited, understood this reality long before TrackRight was built. After nearly four decades in logistics, she had seen the same challenges repeat across the sector: limited visibility, operational inefficiencies, avoidable losses and unreliable data for decision-making. As supply chains became more complex and customers demanded greater accountability, she saw that technology could no longer sit at the edge of logistics. It had to become part of the infrastructure that helps goods move with confidence.
That conviction led to TrackRight, a logistics technology platform designed for the realities of African logistics. Operated by KPM Tech Solutions Limited, TrackRight helps fleet operators monitor trips, reduce losses, improve operational performance and measure emissions. The platform combines software with an emerging hardware layer to support safer, more accountable and more climate-smart freight movement.
At its core, TrackRight is not technology for technology’s sake. It is a practical tool for helping businesses make better decisions every day while preparing the logistics industry for a more digital, transparent and sustainable future

“This first external investment is a defining moment for TrackRight. Afrishela’s backing validates the strength of our technology, the urgency of the problem we are solving, and the trust our customers place in us.”- Ritu Bahal, Founder and CEO, KPM Tech Solutions Limited.
The investment has allowed TrackRight to move faster: scaling deployments, strengthening its product roadmap and preparing for expansion across key logistics corridors in Africa. Just as importantly, the capital has come with the kind of support that helps a founder-led enterprise build strong foundations without being pushed into short-term decisions.
Access to the right capital has been transformative. Afrishela’s support has helped TrackRight accelerate product development, strengthen its team and stay focused on long-term value for customers, employees and the wider logistics ecosystem. This kind of patient, catalytic support matters in a sector where trust is earned through performance.
TrackRight is now building on early enterprise engagement with logistics players such as DHL East Africa, with Afrishela’s support focused on helping the company convert this market validation into long-term commercial deployments.

Behind the product story is a people story. One of the most rewarding parts of building the company, Bahal says, is creating high-quality jobs in technology, operations and customer support while solving a real industry challenge. TrackRight started with six people and has grown to 11 staff: seven women and four men
Building TrackRight is about creating opportunities for people to grow alongside the business. As the company scales, it is contributing not only to more efficient logistics networks but also to local talent development and meaningful employment. The success of the business supports families, careers and a growing team with a shared stake in its future.
“Our priority was installing an operating rhythm that reports at institutional standard. We put TrackRight onto a structured quarterly template covering financial performance, use of funds, and impact KPIs, so capital deployment across the four loan categories was visible in real time.” – Aarthi Ramasubramanian, Investment Officer, Afrishela.
This reporting discipline is not an administrative exercise. It is part of how a growing company becomes ready for institutional investors. TrackRight’s structured reporting now covers financial performance, use of funds and impact indicators, giving both the company and the investor clearer visibility on capital deployment.
Aarthi says the fund anchored impact metrics from the start around emissions reduction, resource efficiency and women’s employment. This helped Afrishela properly monitor the investment while positioning TrackRight to raise capital again from other institutional investors.
The work also addressed two common readiness gaps for fast-growing founder-led businesses: reporting infrastructure and commercial proof. Many businesses scale quickly while tracking performance informally, which can create gaps when institutional investors come on board. With TrackRight, Afrishela supported the company in moving to structured reporting cycles and a monitoring system built around metrics that demonstrate the model is working.
The second gap is converting validation into revenue. TrackRight’s enterprise endorsements and active trials are important signals, but the next stage is long-term deployment. Afrishela’s support is focused on keeping those milestones clear, time-bound and visible to future investors.
“We learned to read disciplined drawdown as a signal. TrackRight deploying 60% to 73% of three loan categories within three months, while holding off other spends for the right moment, signals that the team’s spending is prioritised and not rushed.” – Aarthi Ramasubramanian, Investment Officer, Afrishela.
TrackRight’s disciplined use of capital reflects a focused team building with intent and earning the confidence of customers, partners and future investors.
In logistics, efficiency drives impact. Better visibility and smarter operations reduce costs, improve safety and lower emissions at the same time.

Over the next year, the company is focused on converting pilots into long-term deployments and expanding across key East African corridors. The goal is clear: to become a trusted platform that logistics operators rely on every day.
With Afrishela’s backing, TrackRight is scaling a model in which growth and impact go hand in hand, powering safer, more efficient, and more sustainable freight across Africa.
